Alberta Asafo-Asamoah

Math Teacher and Consultant

Alberta is the current Maths tutor and Consultant at the ‘Fantastic Learning centre’. She has over 3 years of experience providing quality one-to-one tuition services for students in primary and secondary school. Her passion for developing students to reach their ultimate potential can be evidenced in the grades achieved by her students.

She explains that “Her aim is not only to teach but also to motivate students in all aspects of their academic journey”.

As a result of her past successes, Alberta founded educational tuition and advisory service,  ‘AlgebraInTheCity’. The aim of her organisation is to help close the attainment gap and to provide affordable educational advisory services to students and parents globally. Motivated by the rising inequality in the educational system, Alberta has worked with parents to enable them to understand the opportunities available to their children in and outside of the school system. As such, her organisation offers consultation from essay writing for school admission, to tuition services.

Aside from her work with students, Alberta received her undergraduate degree at Syracuse University (New York) and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science. Her degree covered a wide range of topics, from economic principles to political activity and behaviour. Alberta began her professional career working for a leading financial institution, as a Corporate Banker in the United Kingdom, where she provided debt finance to mid-corporate businesses with a turnover of £50 million +.

Currently, Alberta works as an Investment Analyst at an Impact Investing firm to "catalyse purpose-driven entrepreneurs build impactful businesses and unlock investments in emerging and frontier markets".

Alberta has been awarded scholarships to top 10 business schools in the United Kingdom and she hopes to commence her studies in 2020. As part of her MBA course, Alberta hopes to develop a sound understanding of sustainability and investments and utilise the knowledge gained to understand how resources are allocated to developing countries and to raise funding for small businesses using innovative ways to solve complex social issues such as educational disparity, homelessness, and poverty.
