I’m the founder and Centre Director of the ‘Fantastic Learning’ Tuition Centre located in Waltham Cross. I have a significant amount of experience teaching after-school Italian and Mathematics to Primary School children. I also have over 20 years’ of experience working within the local community in various capacities, related to education.

 

Fantastic Learning was founded with the aim to provide ‘community-targeted learning’ – this means centring the tuition centre specifically around the underserved communities, understanding the local educational statistics and working to eradicate the inequalities that exist. Then subsequently providing a comprehensive education to career guidance for parents and students who are not familiar with the system and need the motivation to apply their initiative.

 

Did you know that “Progress on GCSE attainment has stalled since 2010/2011? 40% of students in Inner London and 39% in Outer London do not have 5 or more A*-C grades, including English and Maths, when they finish their GCSEs – a similar figure to five years ago. The proportion of 19-year olds without level 3 qualifications has continued to fall in London though, unlike in the rest of England where progress has stalled.”

 

As a parent and a keen advocate for quality education, these statistics provided by ‘Trust for London’ gives me grave concern. Hence, over the past year, I have made it my mission to attack the issue and create a centre solely dedicated to advancing the educational opportunities for students in the local borough. 

 

My ultimate goal is to instil a passion for a lifetime of continuous learning and achievement in every student that I come across.

 

My approach to tuition focuses on the crucial years of childhood between the ages of 5 to 11 – from the start of statutory schooling to the onset of adolescence. In my work, I constantly advocate for the importance of access to comprehensive quality education, irrespective of social status, postcode and ability.

 

As a result, current tutors and mentors at Fantastic Learning have a shared value which is to improve the educational standard for the borough.
